   2000年中国科学院高能物理研究所与瑞士苏黎世联邦理工学院 (ETH, Zurich) 联合培养博士。2000年至2012年在美国密歇根大学 (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) 任博士后和研究科学家。2012年起任上海交通大学教授,现任粒子与核物理研究所所长,上海市粒子物理和宇宙学重点实验室主任。曾担任ATLAS大型国际合作组顾问委员会委员,ATLAS中国组负责人,大型强子对撞机物理LHCP国际顾问委员会委员。长期从事高能粒子物理实验前沿研究,参与了欧洲核子研究中心CERN大型正负电子对撞机LEP的L3实验 (1997-2005)和大型强子对撞机LHC的ATLAS实验(2005-至今),以及美国费米国家实验室的MiniBooNE实验 (2003-2008)。2012年起参与发起和积极推动中国环形正负电子对撞机CEPC作为“希格斯工厂”和“W/Z玻色子工厂”,现任CEPC项目副主任。 2019年起牵头推动基于上海硬X射线自由电子激光装置SHINE的暗光子实验DarkSHINE预研。

      最先提出和发展多变量机器学习方法BDT,显著提高粒子鉴别效率,已成为数据分析的主流方法,广泛应用于粒子物理实验研究。通过希格斯“黄金衰变道”四轻子末态,利用BDT方法显著提高希格斯的信噪比和探测灵敏度,提出用Z衰变到四轻子的不变质量峰刻度希格斯质量,对ATLAS实验希格斯的发现和性质联合测量做出了重要贡献。希格斯的发现揭示了基本粒子质量起源之谜,为标准模型理论奠定了关键的基石,同时为2013年度诺贝尔物理学奖提供最关键的实验证据。首次在LHC实验上发现了稀有的矢量玻色子散射过程,验证了希格斯的幺正机制,这是电弱对称性破缺机制研究的新里程碑。主持国家重点研发计划CEPC相关的物理和关键技术预研究项目-探测器关键技术预研课题和基金委国际合作与交流项目。以通讯作者或主要贡献者发表的论文50余篇,包括1篇Science,1篇Nature,1篇Nature Physics,9篇PRL论文,高能物理数据库引用超过25000余次。
