Research Experience

Luqi Yuan’s research interests focus on the theoretical study of photonics and quantum optics, targeting towards manipulating the light and exploring novel optical phenomena. His research studies the light-matter interaction at the interface between AMO physics and photonic systems, broadly defined, including physical concepts of topological photonics, synthetic dimensions in photonics, and quantum optics. The interdisciplinary research provides strong opportunities in applications from the overlap of science and engineering, such as optical communication, quantum simulations, quantum information, and remote sensing. Synthetic dimensions in photonics;

Topological photonics, non-Hermitian photonics;

Quantum optics in hybrid quantum systems.
