Title: Single-probe measurements from galaxy clustering and the strong power of the normalized growth rate on constraining dark energy

Speaker: Pro.Chia-Hsun Chuang Universidad Autonoma de Madrid

Time and place: 12:00-13:00, Aril 1st (Monday), 2013, Lecture Hall/CAA/ F2, 955 JianChuan Road , MinHang

Abstract:

We will present the methodology and requirements to obtain single-probe measurements from galaxy clustering data, which can be combined with other datasets (e.g., CMB) without introducing bias and double counting due to the priors used in the analysis. We will also demonstrate that including the normalized growth rate f(z)\sigma_8(z) measurement will provide significant tighter constraints on dark energy parameters when doing anisotropic analysis of galaxy clustering data. This talk will be presented with examples using SDSS-III/BOSS DR9 CMASS sample.
